The song might be about the Walmart in Athens, but it could have almost been written for some people I know. Jeff, I think they're playing your song!

None of this makes any sense. Say something coherent

Chad, many people in Athens believe, like you, that it doesn't make sense that a Wal Mart might locate on the edge of downtown. Others think it will provide jobs that are needed and make groceries accessible to in-town neighborhoods. Many are waiting for the developer to hold a public meeting open to the press. Thanks for commenting.

I remember when a post office or a railroad depot signified a town existed. When you got a cup of coffee at Pete's cafe or a sandwich at Mable's dinner. When you worked for minimum wage at the local IGA where the people at least cared if you came to work and went in search of you if you didn't. Like the fast food industry, many Wall Mart jobs are government subsidized. I feel horrible about how little money Wall Mart is making and will gladly step aside as they gobble up America to increase their bottom line. How much money does one dead man need? How many more local businesses must perish so we can become Sam's nation? I shop at Wall Mart and respect what they have done for the country, but where does it end? Welcome to Wall Mart 1,234, 876.72, Georgia, USA, formally known as Athens.
