Athens Man Claims $1 Million Georgia Lottery Prize

The Powerball ticket for the Sept. 18 drawing was purchased at the Golden Pantry on Greensboro Highway in Watkinsville.

Lottery winners from the Sept. 18 Powerball drawing have stepped up to claim their $1 million prizes.

Robert Channell III of Athens purchased his winning ticket at the Golden Pantry located at 31 Greensboro Highway in Watkinsville. Channell claimed his prize Friday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth, according to a news release from the Georgia Lottery.

The other person with a ticket matching the first five winning numbers from the Sept. 18 Powerball drawing was Chris Papadimitriou of Atlanta.  She purchased her winning Quik Pik ticket at the Georgia Lottery’s Airport North kiosk, located at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and claimed her prize at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Winning numbers from the Sept. 18 Powerball drawing were: 7-10-22-32-35 and the Powerball was 19.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing is an estimated $86 million to a single annuity winner, the lottery announced.
