"Automatic Saturday" Set for January 25th to Help Weaver D's

Supporters of the restaurant want people to come and enjoy the food.

On Saturday, from 11am until 6pm, it's "Automatic Saturday!" at Weaver D's Fine Foods. Created by UGA senior Rance Nix, the event is designed to help the iconic restaurant raise much needed money. Owner Dexter Weaver has announced the closing of Weaver D's a few times, news which brings customers flocking in and plates of food going out.

Here's what a Facebook post says:

Mr. Weaver has been through some hard times as of late, BUT 2014 is a new year! January 25th will be the first ever "Automatic Saturday!" a day to get celebrate good food for good people and to support the legend Mr. Dexter Weaver.

He’ll have all the usual fixins including: Fried chicken, meatloaf, steak and gravy, chicken and gravy, pork chops, whiting and tilapia, hot wings and fries, chicken fingers and fries, mac and cheese, squash casserole, broccoli casserole, sweet potato soufflé, dressing, butter potatoes, green beans, collards greens, and potatoe salad!

Doors will be open from 11:00-6:00. UGA students with an ID can get their meal for $8 from 11:00-3:00.
