The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday, June 27, the unemployment rate in the northeast Georgia region increased to 7.6 percent in May, up from 7 percent in April.

Clarke County's unemployment rate for the month of May was at 6.6 percent, up from 5.9 percent in April.
