The Athens Farmers Market will put you in the holiday season. Come out to Bishop Park on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon and peruse the stands of locally grown produce, fresh bread and pastries, coffee, homemade pasta, holiday crafts and more. At 9 a.m. on December 10, the market will hold a Kids' Activity: Holiday Cards and Ornaments and a booksigning with Hugh Acheson. On December 17, the market will be open for the last day of the season.
This market is all about community, so plan on running into your friends and neighbors and learning about their exploits and a political issue or two. You will leave not only with great bounty, but as a happier person.
