Fleet Feet Sports in Five Points Off to Fast Start

Dustin Shinholser knows feet, shoes and running.

There're running and athletic shoes, seamless socks and women's and men's clothes. There are power bars and gels, lightweight sunglasses and sweat bands and tons of other gizmos you might find in another store focused on running and exercise.

So what sets Fleet Feet Sports apart? It's the people owner Dustin Shinholser has hired, he says. They're knowledgeable about running, about feet and about the products sold in the store.

"And they're personable," says Shinholser. He opened his store in Five Points about 10 days ago, and so far, "everything is going great. It's been a lot of fun."

In addition to products and services, like pairing feet with the right shoes, the store is working to build a sense of community. There are groups training for both a beginner's 5K and the AthHalf half marathon. And there's an event for high school cross country runners--Spike Night--as well.
