J. Christopher's Asking to Renovate Five Points Deli Space on Lumpkin

The Five Points neighborhood in Athens will soon have many more food options.

According to the Clarke County Planning Department, J. Christopher's, a restaurant company, is applying to renovate the restaurant space vacated when the Local Jam closed in 2012. There will be a plans review session, which usually precedes receiving a building permit, on the project on August 1.

Located on the ground floor of the Stiles Building, the space previously housed The Five Points Deli for years.

The application says:

Request: A permit application has been submitted in order to renovate vacant restaurant space for a new restaurant, J. Christopher's. Proposed work includes modifications to the interior walls, and to the plumbing, gas, HVAC and electrical systems.

Athens Patch will report more details as they become available. Founded in Marietta, J. Christoher's has both a breakfast and a lunch menu.
