He received a B.A. from Duke and an M.D. from New York University. A native of West Hartford, Connecticut, Moore completed his internship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and his residencies in general and plastic surgery at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified in general and plastic surgery.

"As a physician in private practice, I was especially proud of my relationships with my patients and with other physicians,” said Moore. The decision to accept the CMO position was “not an easy one,” he said.

“However, I know first hand what the hospital does for our community and the quality of care being provided here,” said Moore. “Therefore, I am proud to be joining medical leadership.  It’s a very exciting time to be an integral part of this organization.”

Moore and his wife Susan, who is a nurse, are the parents of three daughters. The Moore family is active and enjoys such pastimes as long distance running, swimming, biking and a myriad of other sports.
