New Best Western to Rise Six Stories from Basement on Milledge Avenue

Parts of the current Best Western on Milledge Avenue are going to be demolished and replaced with a six-story building, according to notices sent out by the Athens Clarke County Planning Department. The project will be discussed on January 2 at a plans review meeting with county staff.

Request: A permit application has been submitted for review of the foundation plans for a Best Western hotel. The project includes demolition of portions of the existing hotel buildings and construction of a six-story addition above a basement level. Site plans for the development were submitted in October 2013.
