Woman Wins $550K Jackpot With Scratch-off Ticket - Sandy Springs Patch

Angelia Salas of Smyrna was on her lunch break at a Sandy Springs Publix Super Market when she purchased a $550,000 Grand Money instant game ticket.

“I scratched it in the store,” Salas said in a Georgia Lottery Corp. news release. “I said, ‘Oh my gosh! Am I seeing this right? Is this real?’ ”

Taxi Driver Suspected of Dealing Marijuana out of Cab - Dunwoody Patch

Dunwoody Police arrested a taxi driver who was allegedly dealing marijuana from his taxi.

According to the Dunwoody Police Department's Facebook page, Officer Drum pulled over the taxi as it sped at 43 miles per hour through a 25 mile-per-hour school zone on Monday.

Police discovered that the driver, Jean Brown, had an outstanding warrant.

During the traffic stop, officers discovered marijuana, a large quantity of plastic baggies, a digital scale and a loaded handgun.

Morehouse College Athletes Arrested for Sexual Assault - Cascade Patch

According to reports, four Morehouse College students were arrested in April for sexual assault. The charges include rape, sodomy, kidnapping and reckless conduct.

According to Morehouse Police incident reports, Malcolm Jamal Frank, Tevin Mgbo, Chukwudi Ndudikwa allegedly had nonconsensual sex with an 18-year-old Spelman student.  The fourth arrest stemmed from an unrelated incident in which Lucien Kidd is suspected of forcing himself onto a Spelman student at an off-campus location.

Plus-Sized Model Search Coming to Lithonia - Stone Mountain Patch

Two national forces in the fashion industry are collaborating on a search for a plus-sized model to be part of a magazine spread and social media campaign.

Clothing designer Ashley Stewart and PLUS Model Magazine Editor-in-Chief Madeline Jones will be looking for potential candidates when they appear at Lithonia's Stonecrest Mall on Sunday, May 5, between 3-6 p.m.

The Speedo Sunbather of Downtown - East Atlanta Patch

Peachtree Street is a lot of things, but being mistaken for the French Riviera isn't one of them.

And while we've seen plenty of strange sights in and around the communities of East Atlanta Patch, we were still taken aback a wee bit by this image.

Seems this parking lot on Peachtree Street — just across the street from Atlanta Police Headquarters and in the shadow the Garnett MARTA Station — serves more than one function.
