Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Comes to North Georgia
Popular TV show to surprise area family; looking for volunteers to help.
One lucky Northeast Georgia family will soon find themselves in a new home, courtesy of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Producers of the show announced that they will do their first build in the area next month.
The family selected will be in Northeast Georgia's "Lake Country," Greene, Putnam, or Morgan County.
While the lucky family won't be announced until host Ty Pennington knocks on their door on July 10, preparations are already underway.

The show's producers announced that the contractors for the new home will be Lake Oconee-based Pilot Builders and Madison's Smart Properties, but contractors are only a small part of the story. To make one family's dream a reality, the show also needs a legion of volunteers to help build a new home in just one week.
