One Murdered, Another Seriously Injured at Tivoli Apartments

One man was killed and another seriously wounded in a late night shooting at Tivoli Apartments on Gaines School Road.
Police officers arrived at the apartment complex at 10:45 on Sunday night after someone called to report hearing gunshots.
They found David Mark Collins, 22, in the parking lot, suffering from gunshot injuries. The officers and EMS personnel tried to save the young man but weren't successful.
A second man, Anthony Gray Coleman, Jr., 23, was located at St. Mary's Hospital, where he had gone to have his injuries treated.
The suspect is said to be a younger black man, who's driving a silver sedan.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department, the Athens Field Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Clarke County Coroner's Office are investigating the fatal shooting. Detectives and GBI agents continue to examine the scene, collect evidence and conduct interviews.
