Potter Premier Draws Droves of Costume-Clad Fans

The midnight premier of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" at Carmike 12 Cinema Friday brought out dedicated Pott-heads of all ages.

in Athens was swarmed with a crowd of Harry Potter loving moviegoers Friday as the final film in the series premiered on the big screen at midnight. 

Patch reported earlier this week that Joy Chittipangna, assistant manager at Carmike Cinemas, said the theatre was showing the movie on all 12 of its screens, including one showing in 3D. Tickets sold out about two weeks ago, she said.

Adoring fans, some dressed in Hogwarts-themed costumes, lined up outside the theater before being let in. The cinema was packed the instant the doors were opened.

A review of the movie by Brett Martin said, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 neatly wraps up the young wizard's life as he faces his destiny. Eight films and 10 years later (with most of your favorite characters coming back), this final chapter may even leave you a bit misty eyed if you are not careful."
