Seized Drugs, Security Guard Shooting and Friday Night Lights

– Douglasville Patch

A June 19 traffic stop made on Interstate 20 netted cocaine, marijuana, 37 stolen/forged checks, a U.S. Treasury check, five fake Social Security cards, and several fake IDs from various states.

Subjects in the car were arrested without incident and the case is being investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Secret Service.

In a separate incident on June 20, members of the F.I.N.D. Unit made another traffic stop on Interstate 20. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed four ounces of marijuana hidden in the spare tire compartment.

– Midtown Patch

Atlanta police are looking for two men in connection with an early morning robbery and shooting on Juniper Street near Ponce de Leon Avenue.

The shooting victim, Joseph Carter, is a security guard at 116 Ponce de Leon Ave.

Carter heard a robbery victim’s screams, ran outside and was shot. He was treated at the scene.

The Atlanta Falcons will hold their annual Friday Night Lights preseason scrimmage at  on Aug. 3, the team has announced. 

It's the fourth year the Falcons have held this event in Gwinnett. Previous stops have been at Norcross, Brookwood and Mill Creek high schools.
