This Day in History--June 5

The dreams of many people ended on this day.

On this day in 1968, U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, one of two younger brothers of assassinated President John F. Kennedy, was shot in Los Angeles as he campaigned for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

He was walking through the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel when Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian immigrant, attacked him. Shot three times, Kennedy died of his wounds about 26 hours later.
