Candidates for 3rd District Commission Seat Venture into Electronic Media

Rachel Watkins and Melissa Link, both candidates for the District 3rd seat being vacated by Commissioner George Maxwell, now have Facebook pages.

A press release from Link says:

"In an effort to raise funds for Melissa Link’s campaign for Athens-Clarke County District 3 Commissioner, [Lou Kregel] is launching a personal public art campaign. For the first 20 donors of $100 or more, I will paint this 3-foot flower anyplace within the Athens area of the donor’s choosing (with property owner’s permission, of course). The flower must be publicly visible from the street and the area must be reachable with a maximum 6-foot ladder. These are the only colors I’m using for this project, however I will use colors of your choosing if you provide the paint. The flowers will be painted when the weather warms up in March, but you should make your donation now to get one of the 20 slots.
