Athens Symphony Christmas Concert featuring Chorus and Terry Kay

The Athens Symphony will present its beloved Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 14 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, December 15 at 3:00 pm in The Classic Center Theatre.  Susan Dinwiddie conducts.

The concert will open with Handel’s Overture to “Messiah” followed by shimmering renditions of holiday songs, carols, and sacred classics such as Vivaldi’s “Gloria in Excelsis Deo", arranged by Conductor Laureate Albert Ligotti.  A highlight will feature Terry Kay reading his story “The Promise Made Whole”, accompanied by the orchestra and chorus with a musical arrangement by longtime Symphony composer and musician J.R. Beckwith.  Enjoy pieces like the “Hallelujah Chorus”, “White Christmas”, and the traditional Christmas Sing-a-long to kick off the holiday season.

** ALSO OF "NOTE":  On Monday, December 2nd at 10 am complimentary tickets will be released at The Classic Center Theatre box office, 300 N. Thomas Street; they are required for entry and are limited to four per person.  Tickets have been known to disappear fast, so a prompt pick-up is recommended.

The Classic Center Theatre box office is open weekdays from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 9 am until 1 pm, 706-357-4444.
