Lunchtime Learning: What's New at GADD?

Athens-Clarke County Library's popular "Lunchtime Learning" series returns with an overview of the Georgia Download Destination (GADD), an online clearinghouse of downloadable eBooks and audiobooks available through the library's website, www.athenslibrary.org.

The program will take place in the library's Multipurpose Room B at 12:15 p.m.

GADD allows patrons of participating Georgia libraries, including all Athens Regional Library System branches, to check out and download eBooks and audiobooks through Overdrive. The materials automatically return themselves after a seven- or 14-day lending period, so there are no late fees! All you need is your library card, password and a compatible device, such as a personal computer, tablet, eReader, smart phone or mp3 player.

At this program, Karen Douglas, the library's technical assistant and trainer, will explain some of GADD's latest elements. She will cover such topics as Overdrive Reader and navigate through new user-friendly features. This overview will be helpful to both new and experienced users. Please note that this is a lecture-based class and not a hands-on workshop. Patrons who wish for one-on-one help with their devices can sign up for tutoring sessions at the library.Β
