Singer-songwriter Amos Lee to perform at The Classic Center Theatre on April 13

ATHENS, Ga. – Singer-songwriter Amos Lee will bring his national headlining tour to The Classic Center Theatre on Sunday, April 13 at 8 p.m.

Tickets range from $27-$49 and are on sale now.

Lee’s 2014 tour comes on the heels of his extensive fall 2013 outing, which included sold-out shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., and the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

The Philadelphia native is touring in support of his album Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song, the follow-up to 2011’s chart-topping Mission Bell. The New York Times hailed his new album as a “serenely sure-footed effort from Amos Lee, a singer-songwriter who rarely delivers anything else.” Elmore observed, “‘Mountains of Sorrow’ may be Lee’s finest yet.” Entertainment Weekly praised his “strikingly soulful voice,” while Paste noted, “Lee makes sorrow shimmer…Like Jackson Browne for another generation, Lee understands the staining traces of love.” The album features guest vocals by Alison Krauss and Patty Griffin.

Lee will donate $1 from each ticket sold to Musicians On Call (www.musiciansoncall.org/amos), a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in health care facilities.
