A Full House For Arrests and An Armed Robbery

On November 16 members of the Crime Emergency Unit East and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 236 Fourth Street. Cash, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, digital scales, EBT cards in various names, and various items with suspected cocaine residue were seized. Hutchie Favors, 57, and Shelton Favors, 52, were arrested for Maintaining a Disorderly House; Shelton Favors was also charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Bobby Lee Favors, 59, was charged with Possession of a Schedule III/IV/V Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, and Maintaining a Disorderly House. Mark Derrick Lumpkin, 43, Sartain Dr, was charged with Possession of Drug Related Objects. Berte David Hawk, 59, Dunlap Road, Winterville, was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine.

Around 4:50am on November 17 officers responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Golden Pantry, 1880 W Broad St. The clerk advised as she exited her vehicle, a male approached her at the door. He covered her mouth and demanded that she open the door. Once inside the store, he told her to open the safe. She complied and he took an unspecified amount of money as well a number of packages of cigarettes. The clerk said she saw a gun. A responding officer saw a vehicle leaving a nearby closed business. As he turned around to stop it, the driver accelerated and continued west on Broad St. He turned into a business near Camellia Dr and the officer could see he was wearing a mask. The driver drove through the parking lot and started to re-enter Broad St. As he did, the driver’s side door opened and he exited with an object in his hand. The officer exited his vehicle and ordered the suspect to the ground at gun point. The suspect complied. It was determined the item in his hand was a cellphone. After an investigation, William L. Murdock, 30, S. Pine St, Laurinburg, NC, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Fleeing/Attempting to Elude.
