Paula Renee Venable, 52, was accused of stuffing three packs of beef chuck steak into her purse and trying to leave the North Avenue Piggly Wiggly without paying for her purchase.
According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, Venable was arrested Friday morning around 9am at the grocery store. Employees told police that she has stolen from the store before.
Venable was charged with shoplifting in connection with the incident, the story says.
