Suspect in Custody, Charged With Injuring Doctor with Knife

The alleged incident happened in the doctor's office near Sunset.

A man with a knife attacked a psychiatrist in his medical office on Tuesday morning around 9am near Sunset Drive, slightly nicking him on the neck.

Michael Edward Ruark, 63, has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. Police apprehended him as he was trying to leave the area in a taxi.
 
The story says Ruark entered the office around 9am and accused the psychiatrist of stealing from him. As the two men argued over the alleged theft, Ruark grabbed the doctor and held a knife to his throat.

The psychiatrist pushed Ruark away but sustained a slight nick on his neck, the story says.

Ruark has been charged with aggravated assault, according to the story. He lives on Baxter Street.
