Wanted Assault and Robbery Suspect Turns Himself In
Rickie Korey "Woo" Powell surrendered to the Clarke County jail on Tuesday, police said.
A man wanted in Athens on robbery and assault charges surrendered himself to the Clarke County Jail Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Rickie Korey "Woo" Powell is accused of assaulting an Athens-Clarke County uniformed officer during a robbery of the BP Gas Station located at 4000 Lexington Road last Thursday, April 18.
Following the incident in Athens, Oconee County Sheriff's deputies with permission searched a relative's home on Farmington Road, Powell's last known address, but did not locate him there, according to an incident report.
