Athens Crime Blotter: A Fire Station is Burglarized

Stolen firefighter gear contributes to a rash of Athens burglaries.

Here are the latest reports from the :

Firefighter turnout gear valued at $2,270 was stolen from a garage at Athens-Clarke County Fire Station No. 8 on Jefferson Rd.  on the night of Feb. 23.

A Lexington Heights residence was burglarized overnight between Feb. 22 and Feb. 23. A TV valued at $200 was stolen.

On the afternoon of Feb. 22, a North Lumpkin Street residence was burglarized.  Laptops valued at $2,000 were stolen.

A Ruth Street residence was burglarized between the night of Feb. 23. A TV, jewelry, and laptop with a total value of $1,650 were stolen.

Air conditioner units valued at $4,200 were stolen from a Baxter St. location  overnight from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23.
