Athens Man Arrested Following Men’s Room Photography

A 35-year-old Athens man has been arrested after allegedly taking photographs of another man urinating at a Georgia Square Mall rest room.

A 35-year-old Athens man has been arrested after allegedly taking photographs of another man urinating at a Georgia Square Mall rest room.

Online Athens reports that Bobby Joe Gallegos is accused of eavesdropping and peeping Tom during the alleged incident on March 15. Gallegos has been arrested by Athens-Clarke County police.

The alleged victim told officers that while he was in a restroom stall he happened to look up and saw someone reaching over the top of the partition with a phone pointing down on him, police said.

A witness told officers that when he entered the restroom Gallegos was standing by a trash can, but he later saw him reach over a partition and take photos of the alleged victim, police said.

Police subsequently obtained arrest warrants based on images found inside the cellphone.

Gallegos was booked into the Clarke County Jail Thursday night and was released on Sunday after posting a total bond of $5,000.
