Athens Police: Woman, 67, Killed in Jefferson Road Accident

Her car flipped over in a ditch after striking a truck.

Athens-Clarke Police say a 67-year-old woman was killed in a Wednesday afternoon accident near the intersection of Jefferson Road and Camak Drive.

According to a media release, Juliana Leonne Moses, 67, of Lavender Road, died at the scene. Her 2000 Toyota Camry flipped upside-down in a Jefferson Road ditch after striking a 2004 International truck driven by James Phillip Power, 50, of Comer. Both vehicles were south-bound on Jefferson.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. March 26.

Police said Moses struck the truck in the right rear corner, causing her vehicle to cross over to the other side of the road and into the ditch. Power was not injured.

No charges have been filed, pending the investigation.
