Athens Today--January 3

Now the New Year can really begin---back to work!

Athens Clarke County Police are warning motorists that some baddies in street clothes are posing as police officers—a few with flashing blue lights on the dash—and are conducting bogus traffic stops. If you are stopped and feel uncomfortable, turn on your flashers, drive slowly to a zippy mart and call 911. A real officer will come help you.

The Athens Clarke County Commission holds its regular monthly meeting tonight at 7pm in City Hall. Athens Patch will be live blogging the event, so be sure to check in for a blow-by-blow description of unfolding events.
