Athens-Clarke PD Schedules Public Meeting on Using Grant Money

The department is eligible for nearly $39K it hopes to use on in-field camera system.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has scheduled a public comment session on the department’s application for a 2014 Justice Assistance Grant.

ACC is eligible for up to $38,987 it hopes to use for an in-field camera system that can be mounted in cars and on officers.

JAG funds can be used for local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice.

Public comments on how the funds would be used will be heard at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, May 8 in the Commission Chambers at City Hall.
