Athens-Clarke Police: Burglaries, Injury Crash and Criminal Damage

Athens-Clarke County PD media release, May 21.

ACCIDENT
Kimberly Nguyen of Royston, driving a 2013 Honda CRV, was southbound on Hwy 29 around 1:40 p.m. on May 20. Jackqueline Robinson of Watkinsville, driving a 2005 Acura TL, was northbound in the inside lane. As Nguyen attempted a left turn onto Hull Rd, she turned in front of the Robinson vehicle causing them to collide. Robinson was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. Nguyen was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way Turning Left.


ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
A man reported an attempt to enter his Ruth Street residence between 3 p.m. May 7 and 12 p.m. May 19.

BURGLARY
The office at Knollwood Manor Apartments, 205 Old Hull Rd, was burglarized between 8 p.m. May 19 and 9:30 a.m. May 20. A faucet valued at $60 was stolen.

Between 8 and 10 a.m. on May 20 a Camelot Drive residence was burglarized. Jewelry, a camera, and headphones valued at $3,120 were stolen.

A vacant Branch Street residence managed by Keller Williams Realty of Bogart was burglarized between 12 p.m. May 14 and 2:15 p.m. on May 20. A stove and door valued at $550 were stolen. 
A Mossy Point residence was burglarized between 8 a.m. May 13 and 5 p.m. May 20. A TV was damaged in an apparent attempt to steal it. A metal number valued at $10 was stolen from the door.

An Ashmore Drive residence was burglarized between 1 and 5 p.m. on May 20. Cash, laptops, a video game system, and headphones with a total value of $1,360 were stolen. The video game system and headphones were recovered in a nearby wooded area. A witness confronted two suspects around the time of the burglary. They were described as black males; one wore a white t-shirt and black pants and the other wore a green shirt and dark blue jeans.

Between 7:30 p.m. May 20 and midnight May 21 a Vine Street residence was burglarized. A laptop and game system were stolen. The total value was $1,130.

 

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
An Athens woman reported her vehicle damaged between 11:45 p.m. May 19 and 7 a.m. May 20 while it was parked at her Rolling Ridge Drive residence. A window was broken out and black paint was sprayed on the vehicle. The damage was estimated at $2,100.

 

THEFT BY TAKING 
Between 2 p.m. May 12 and 5 p.m. May 20 a bush hog, pressure washer, and shotgun were stolen from a Bob Holman Road. The items were valued at $3,600.
