Atlanta Man Reports Robbery Early Sunday Morning

An Atlanta man called the Athens Clarke County Police department around 4pm on September 29 to report a robbery that occurred around 1am.

The man said he and a friend had been walking on Washington Street near Jackson Street. He got separated from his friend and was walking alone.

The man said he tripped and fell, and two young man started to help him up. When he was about halfway up, one reached in his pocket and removed his wallet. He valued the wallet and its contents at $56.

The men ran down Washington Street, then split up and ran in opposite directions. The man said he returned to his hotel and later returned to Atlanta.

The Atlanta man described the suspects as young black males, possibly in their early 20’s or younger, tall and thin with a somewhat athletic build, short hair, medium complexion, and unknown clothing description.
