The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Β

An Athens woman's baby pigs were reported stolen Sunday, according to an report.

The woman told police that she had two six-month-old pigs in a fenced-in backyard at her Habersham Drive residence. The pigs were rescues and were being treated as pets, but were repoted to Animal Control by a neighboring resident.Β

After receiving a notice Saturday from Animal Control that both animals had to be removed, the woman said that a friend of hers noticed the pigs were missing. Both Animal Control and Code Enforcement denied removing the animals, but said that the complainant had told them that if the animals were not removed, the complainant would remove them.

The investigation is ongoing.
