He fled, but was later found and identified by the victims.

An Athens man was charged with burglary after he was identified as the person seen running out of a Strickland Avenue residence.

Police said in a media release Kennedy Lamri Jackson was still in the house when the residents returned home after 6 p.m. on Feb. 27. The suspect was coming out of a bathroom, saw the residents and fled on foot toward Fourth Street.

The residents told police they noticed some of their belongings had been moved around, and a video game system and components had been stuffed into a gym bag.

According to the media release: “One officer thought he recognized the suspect from the description given. Officers went to his Fourth Street residence and made contact with him.”

Jackson was identified as the person seen in the house, and was arrested.
