Burglar Slashed Furniture, Poured Bleach on Clothes in Athens Apartment, But Nothing Was Stolen
Police said damages were more than $20,000.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a weekend break-in that resulted in more than $20,000 in damages.
Nothing was stolen from the Wood Lake Place apartment, but the resident said someone sliced up his furniture and poured bleach on his clothes, bedding and towels.
According to an ACCPD media report, the burglary occurred between 2 p.m. April 24 and 9:30 a.m. April 26. A broken sliding glass door in the rear of the apartment was the point of entry.
