Burglaries Abound in Athens As August Begins

The information in this story comes from the ACC Police. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Between 10:00pm, August 2, and 10:30am, August 3, someone kicked in the front door of a Juniper Lane residence and made off with $300.

A young woman told police she was inside her home with friends between 3:00am and 9:00am on August 3, when someone entered her residence through an unlocked door. A watch, valued at $500.00 was removed from a back pack, and $100.00 cash was taken from her wallet. It was also discovered that a motorcycle parked outside had the seat cut, and a vehicle had one of its tires slashed.

Between 3:30am and 1:00pm, on August 3, a Barnett Shoals residence entered through an unlocked rear door. Two sets of keys were taken from the kitchen table, and a vehicle belonging to one resident was then entered and an I-Pod Touch was taken.
