Burglary Suspect Arrested at Airport Minit Market

The following information comes from the ACCPD. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

Athens-Clarke County police responded to a burglary in progress at the Airport Minit Market on Winterville Road early Monday morning. A caller reported having heard a loud banging coming from the back of the business.

As an officer looked behind the building, he saw a man with something in his hand, police said.

When the officer illuminated the man with his flashlight and identified himself as a police officer, the man reportedly fled on foot.  The suspect was apprehended following a brief chase.
