Electronics seem to be the item of choice for thieves in Athens.

A thief made off with more than $2100 worth of electronics from a Heelstone Avenue residence, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

Between 11:30 Tuesday night and 1:45 Wednesday morning, someone appeared to have pried open the front door. The resident said her husband and she were at church in Atlanta, during which time the home was ransacked. Cell phones, a laptop, a monitor and other items were removed from the residence.

Police have no suspects at this time.

 Officers responded to an open door at the Barnett Shoals Rd residence of Jessica Katelyn Watson around 11 a.m. on May 17.  Watson was not home at the time.  When contact was made with her later, she advised nothing appeared to have been stolen.  A neighbor reported seeing a suspicious white male looking in his window around the same time.  He was described as in his mid 20’s, 5’11” to 6’1”, bald, 160 to 165 pounds.

 BURGLARY

 The East Paces Drive residence of Heather Novia was burglarized between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on May 17.  A video game system and games valued at $590 were stolen.

Latoya Farrah Young reported that her New Hope Drive residence was burglarized between 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on May 17.  A TV valued at $300 was stolen.

Between 12 midnight on May 16 and midnight on May 18, the South Hampton Point residence of Kristen Danielle Hughes was burglarized.  A laptop valued at $900 was stolen.  

A lap top, monitor, cell phones, and medication were stolen from the Heelstone Ave residence of Jacqueline Lennette Harris and Willie Lamar Harris between 1130 May 17 and1:45 a.m. on May 18.  The total value was $1,600.  

The Massey Lane residence of Tiesha Shayon Collins was burglarized between 1100 and 1515 May 17.  Stolen were a game system and watch, whose value totals $130.

 THEFT BY TAKING

Between midnight February 3 and 1:15 p.m. May 17, copper bars and wire valued at $2,000 were stolen from a cell phone tower site on Collins Industrial Blvd.  This was owned by METRO PCS of Norcross.
