Theft continues in Athens.

An officer responded to a complaint of an injured person at a Winterville Rd residence. The officer made contact with a man who could only be identified as “Carlos.” It was determined three men had attacked him at an unknown location and took an undetermined amount of money. EMS responded and advised he had a possible broken jaw. He was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. This occurred between 7:30 and 7:45 on May 22.  The investigation continues.  

The Hidden Creek Dr residence of Cleaves Carpenter was burglarized between 8 a.m. on May 20 and 11:30 a.m. on May 22.  A TV, disc player, battery case, and camera were stolen, with a value of $1,678.

 Austin Turner Roddy reported an X-Box, PlayStation, iPod, and check books stolen from his South Milledge Ave residence between 8 a.m. on May 13 and 6 p.m. on May 22.  The total value was $641.

 Between 10 p.m. on May 12 and 3 p.m. on May 21, the North Chase St residence of Lauren Nesmith, Heather Troutman and Catherine Johnson was burglarized. A lap top charger, TV, camera, and memory card were stolen. The total value was $600.

 Lisa Barrett Lopaco of Statham reported that her vehicle was  entered between 2:10 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on May 22 while it was parked on Alps Rd.  A purse, make-up, and jewelry with a total value of $1,955 were stolen.

 Between 5 p.m. on May 20 and 4 p.m. on May 22 ,golf clubs, a cell phone, car keys, rain suit, golf shirts and visors valued at $2,266 and owned by Tyler Hogan of Lake Park were stolen from the Little Street residence of Colton Taylor Strawn. Golf shirts valued at $65 owned by Strawn were also stolen.  A suspect was named.
