Crime continues in Athens.

Between 3 a.m. and 6:05 p.m. on May 23, someone tried to enter the North Pope Street residence of Colleen Gaughan through several different windows. Officers responded to an alarm at the same North Pope Street residence around 1:05 a.m. on May 24. A door had been kicked in but nothing is known to be missing.  

James Michael Head reported that his Sycamore Drive residence was burglarized between 5 p.m. on May 20 and 6 a.m. on May 23.  A grill and cell phones valued at $60 were stolen.

The Sarsen Circle residence of Earl Lee Thomas was burglarized between 6 p.m. on May 21 and 10:30 a.m. on May 23.  A game console valued at $300 was stolen.

Between 1:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. on May 23, the Hickman Drive residence of Shanita Watkins was burglarized.  A bottle of prescription medicine was stolen.
