Delivery man robbed, and others as well.

Roommates Now Accused Burglars.

Brittney Kayleen Johnson and Steven Samuel Sutherland said when they returned to their Gaines School Road residence around 5 p.m. on May 26, they found their other roommates in their room. The offenders were going through items without their permission. Wesley Aaron Hogan, 18, and Chelsea Ann Renee Adams, 18, were arrested and charged with Burglary.

Late-night pedestrian robbed at gunpoint. 

Benjamin Kyle O’Connell of South Peter Street said he was walking home around 3 a.m. on May 26. Near the Oak St intersection, O’Connell was approached by a black male, who pointed a gun at him and demanded the contents of his pockets. O’Connell gave him his cell phone valued at $300 and $17. The suspect was described as 5’8” to 5’10”, mid-20’s, medium complexion, with a broad nose, and deep voice. He wore a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans and carried a red “wife-beater” t-shirt over his shoulder.

Wings deliveryman robbed at residence.

Around 1 a.m. on May 27, Daniel Lloyd was delivering food from Wingster, 521 Baxter Street, to a residence in the 300 block of Martin Cir. A black male answered the door. He turned away as if he was getting money to pay. At that time, another black male carrying a baseball bat came from the right side of the house and walked up behind Loyd. He told Loyd to “drop everything.” Loyd dropped his cell phone and cash and the suspect chased him on foot for several minutes.  When he felt he was no longer in danger, Loyd returned to his vehicle and returned to the business to call police. The first suspect was described as 5’8”, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood on his head, and baggy jeans shorts. The suspect with the bat was about 6’1”, thin, with short hair.  He wore a white t-shirt and possibly jeans. The phone and cash were valued at $480.  

Store alarm summons police.

Around 3:50 a.m. on May 27, officers responded to an alarm at Bert’s Grocery,151 Nellie B Ave.  A rock had been thrown through the front door, but no one had gone inside

Money taken in home burglary.

Between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on May 26, the Sir Scott Road residence of Wilson Riddles and Joe Lidell Coleman was burglarized. One hundred dollars in cash was stolen.
