Buglaries, some successful and others not, were the order of the day.

Burglaries and more burglaries seem to be the crime de jour in Athens these days. If people aren’t succeeding, they’re constantly trying to break into someone’s house and make off with electronics and other goods.

 Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 28, someone tried to break into the Clarkewoods Rd residence of Ashlee Arroll Wegmann. She reported the incident on May 30.

 Antonette McKinney of Lexington Road is in the process of moving out of her former house. Between 8 p.m. on May 15 and 6 a.m. on May 30, a laptop, fireplace tool stand, lamps, camera, decorative items and books were stolen from her old residence on Highland Park Drive. The total value was $501.

 The Venita Drive residence of Jonathan Juen Ho Yip was burglarized between 3 p.m. on May 27 and 3 p.m. on May 30. Someone took a video game system and games valued at $400.

 Between 7:30 p.m. on May 28 and 7:45 p.m. on May 30, someone broke into the Hunters Run Road residence of Sarah Danielle Barrett , but nothing is known to be missing.

 A TV and Wi-Fi connector with a total value of $300 were stolen from the Pineview Drive residence of Erin Jenna Sexton in a burglary which occurred between 3 p.m. on May 28 and 10:30 p.m. on May 30.  

 Officers responded to a burglary in progress at the Pauldoe Street residence of Valleree Sanceray Sims  around 11 p.m. on May 30. A witness reported seeing someone crawling out a back window.  When officers arrived, they found a broken window and saw several females inside watching TV. Contact was made with SIMS who advised she had been home for several minutes. The residence was searched and nothing was out of order or missing.  

 The Spring Valley Road residence of Jodiann Simms was burglarized between 7 p.m. on May 30 and midnight on May 31. The burglar took TVs, a surround sound system and video game systems, all valued at $1,250.  A possible suspect was named.  

 Between 10:30 a.m. on May 30 and 4 a.m. on May 31, someone broke into the South Milledge Ave residence of Allison Haspell and took a $500 television.
