A lot of people are up to no good in Athens.

 Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 100 #18 Rolling Ridge Drive on June 1. A quantity of marijuana, cash, digital scales, and distribution paraphernalia were seized.  Harold Jamal Fulton, 20, Rocksprings Ct, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

Jason Daniel Fleeman, 28, Stuart Cir, Arnoldsville, was arrested around 3:40 p.m. onJune 1 after he attempted to cash a forged check at the Pinnacle Bank, 3140 Lexingon Rd. Fleeman was charged with first degree forgery. The check was drawn on the account of Willie Edd Sanders, Jr., of Carlton.  

Around 7:50 p.m. on June 1, officers received a complaint of males in the downtown area offering to sell marijuana to people. The complainant said the young men would become disorderly when people would refuse to buy. Their descriptions were issued and officers located one of the subjects in the area of W Hancock Ave and Dougherty St. The situation was explained to one young man, and the officer requested permission to search him. He consented. During the search, the officer found three small bags of marijuana in his pocket. Jabari Ameer Rhodes, 22, Wynter Court, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

 David Hill of Colbert said he had stopped at a Prince Ave convenience store around 4:55 a.m. on June 2 to make a purchase. He returned to his vehicle and raised the hood to check the oil. As he raised the hood, a black man walked around the corner from the back of the building. Hill said the man pulled a knife—like a kitchen or steak knife—and pressed it to his side and told him to give him his money. Hill gave him about $160 and the suspect ran across Barber St. The suspect was described as 5’8” to 5’11”, 150 to 160 pounds, in his 30’s, with scruffy facial hair, and dark complexion. He wore a grey windbreaker and dark pants.  

 The Rolling Ridge Dr residence of Shaquanna Dominique Walton was burglarized between 9 p.m. on May 27 and 10:15 p.m. on June 1. A TV, rims and tires, and an AK47 assault rifle were stolen. The total value was $2,400.

Between 8 a.m. on May 25 and 4:15 p.m. on June 1, a vacant Hill Chapel Street residence owned by Elizabeth Bowers was burglarized. Someone took a table top water heater valued at $15.  

Freda Yolanda Love reported that her North Bluff Rd residence was burglarized between 10:45 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. on June 1. Nothing is known to be missing at this time.

The Davis Street residence of Carly Nash was burglarized between 5 p.m. and 8:10 p.m. on June 1. She doesn’t yet know what is missing.
