Stealing continues in Athens.

 On June 4, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on North Avenue. A policeman discovered crack and powder cocaine inside the vehicle. Chris Allen of Hickman Drive, who was a passenger, was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine.

On June 5 at 2:50 a.m., officers observed Stephen Norman Bird unconscious and bleeding from a head injury in front of 131 E. Broad Street, near some condos. Witnesses told the officers they saw the offender push the victim out of a chair, causing his head to strike the ground. The offender then began hitting the victim with a chair while he was unconscious. Citizens followed the offender and led officers to him at a downtown location.  Cameron Lee Jacob, Town Square Lane, was charged with Aggravated Assault, Public Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct.  The victim was transported by EMS to the hospital.  

On June 4 at 6:14 p.m., Cole Jentes reported his residence on E. Cloverhurst Avenue entered.  A flat screen TV valued at $600.00 and a Playstation 3 game console valued at $300.00 were taken.

On June 4 between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m., Felicia Denise Bradford reported that her vehicle was entered on Pauldoe Street. A CD stereo player valued at $100.00 was taken.

On June 4, between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m.,Tanah Shennese Willoughby reported that her vehicle was entered by force on Pauldoe Street. The burglar took a 20-inch TV valued at $375.00.

Between June 3 at 10 p.m. and June 4 at 9:50 a.m. William Keith Waldrop reported that his vehicle was entered by force on Woodlake Drive. A .380 caliber handgun valued at $350.00 was taken.
