The following information was supplied by the Athens-Clarke police department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
Around 5:40 p.m. on June 7, officers responded to a complaint that there were suspicious persons behind Captain D’s on Prince Avenue. The officers found two men – John V. Keith, who was in a car, and Perry Lindsey Youngblood, who was on a bicycle. Officers found a prescription pill bottle with no label on it in Keith’s vehicle. It contained two Xanex.pills, but he didn’t have a prescription for Xanez. Keith was arrested. Youngblood allowed the officers to search him. They found a small marijuana cigarette and a clear plastic baggie with three different prescription pills, one of which was Xanex. The officers then arrested Youngblood. They obtained a warrant and searched Keith’s car more thoroughly. They found a bottle with a number of Hydrocodone and Xanex pills. Keith, 40, of Lexington, was charged with Possession of Schedule III/IV/V Drugs, Drugs in Original Container, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I/II Drugs, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III/IV/V Drugs. Youngblood, 52, was charged with Possession of Schedule I/II Drugs, two counts Possession of Schedule III/IV/V Drugs, and Drugs in Original Container.
Between 8 a.m. on June 2 and 12 noon on June 3, a house on Holman Avenue was burglarized. Taken were blu ray movies and video games valued at $90.
A house on Cavalier Rd was burglarized between 3 p.m. on May 1 and 10 p.m. on June 4. Stolen were savings bonds, jewelry, and miscellaneous coins were stolen, valued at $6,900.

A resident of Angus Lane reported that a window air conditioning unit and a porch swing were stolen from a vacant North Rocksprings St residence. The theft occurred between 10 a.m. on June 4 and 10 a.m. on June 6. The total value was $300.
Between 2 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on June 6, a riding lawn mower valued at $1,000 was stolen from a house on Claystone Woods Drive. Later in the day the homeowner drove by the Golden Pantry on Tallassee Road. She saw her mower in the back of a parked pickup truck occupied by two men. She stopped and called 911.One man left in the truck before officers arrived. Officers searched the area and found the man, the truck and the mower on Chalfont Drive. Arrested were Travis Kenyae Porter, 36, Ashmore Drive, and Ulysses C. Norman, 56, Claystone Woods Drive. They were charged with theft by receiving.
