On Oct. 22 at 2:25 p.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress call in Beacon Mobile Home Park on Danielsville Rd. A witness showed the officers the vacant residence that was burglarized. A male inside looked out a window and saw an officer, before running out the rear door. Officers chased the male into a wooded area. The offender was apprehended a few minutes later on Connally Circle. Donavan Tomenski Mallard, Connally Circle, was charged with Burglary, Possession of Less Than An Ounce of Marijuana, and Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officer.

On Oct. 22 at 7:40 a.m., officers responding to the area of Newton Street and Meigs Street in reference to a man standing beside a white Ford van with several of the windows knocked out. An officer arrived on scene and saw the man drop a bag. A digital camera was inside the bag. Officers notified the owner of the van. James Mack Hunter, Jr., Southridge Drive, was charged with Entering Automobile and Giving False Information.

On Oct. 22 at 3:30 p.m., a resident of Chalfont Lane reported that his gold diamond ring valued at $5,500.00 was snatched from his hand at 110 Hickman Drive. The victim was attempting to sell the diamond ring for $2,300.00 to an individual whose name he thought to be Sam. Sam pulled out a large sum of cash and snatched the ring and fled. The victim stated that the ring was advertised on Craig’s List, and Sam had agreed to meet at this location.

Between 9 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 22, a woman reported that her residence on Fourth Street was burglarized. A jar containing $50.00 in US currency (coins) was taken.

On Oct. 22, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., a Winterville resident reported that his home on Athens Road in Winterville burglarized. Rare coins (silver pieces and buffalo nickels) valued at $36.00 were taken. A name of a suspect was given by the victim.

Between Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. and Oct. 23 at 1:30 a.m., residents of Baxter Drive reported their home burglarized. A flat-screen 22” TV valued at $200.00, Xbox 360 and game valued at $360.00, photo smart printer valued at $150.00, folding knife valued at $50.00, 
$165.00 in US currency, and a duffle bag were taken.

Between 11 p.. on Oct. 22 and 2:10 a.m. on Oct. 23, a couple  reported while they were asleep in their residence on Lake Drive, it was burglarized. Two laptop computers valued at $1,300.00 and a purse containing $200.00 in US currency were taken.

Between Oct. 19 at 10:30 p.m. and Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m., a landlord reported that his air conditioning unit, valued at $2,500.00, was taken from his rental property on Evans Street.
