Around 9:20 p.m. on July 11, ACC Police officers responded to a report of a man who had been stabbed at North Ave and Martin Luther King, Jr., Pkwy. They found the victim. Witnesses said that the victim and the suspect had been arguing when the suspect pulled a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the chest  and struck him in the face with a brick. EMS responded and transported the victim to Athens Regional Medical Center. Officers made contact with the suspect and, after questioning, arrested RICKY DEAN SMITH, 49, homeless.  He was charged with Aggravated Assault.  

A Milledge Ave Extension residence was burglarized between 3 p.m. on July 10 and 7 a.m. on July 11. Jewelry, a blanket, Wii fit mat, mirror, tray, box, and receiver/amp were stolen. The total value was $2,470.  

A Cherry Lane residence owned by a resident of Little St was burglarized between 12:10 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on July 11.  Property owned by a Dahlonega resident was in the home. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

Around 12:40 a.m. on July 11, a small, red car pulled up to the fence at Georgia Power on Dairy Pak Road. A thief went under the fence and removed spools of copper wire valued at $2,000 from several trucks.There is no further description of the vehicle or suspect

Between 11 a.m. on July 10 and 8 a.m. on July 11, a tow dolly valued at $1,600 owned by Penske Truck Leasing of Norcross was stolen from Top Dog Auto Service, 2205 Lexington Rd.

A Founders Lake Drive resident reported that an air conditioner unit valued at $2,700 was stolen from a South Milledge Avenue residence between June 15 and July 11.

A Spring Valley Road resident reported that a transmission and doors were stolen from vehicles located at a Murrell Road location between noon on June 10 and noon on July 11. The total value was $1,200. A suspect was named.
