An officer met with a Colbert woman at a Prince Ave convenience store last night. She said that at around 9:30 p.m. on August 24, as she was about to leave a Gaines School Rd shopping center, the offender was in her vehicle. She got in the vehicle, but when she tried to get out, he made her stay and drive to Oconee County. At one point she jumped out. He got out also and partially tied her up and dragged her back to the vehicle. They returned to Clarke County and drove around for a while. When he stopped at the Prince Ave location, she jumped out and ran inside for help. The offender drove off in her vehicle. A lookout was issued and a short time later the vehicle was spotted. After a brief chase the offender was apprehended. Jacob Dale Seawright, 24, Ashley Cir, was arrested and charged with Theft by Taking Auto, Simple Battery, Kidnapping, and Obstruction.

A Hanover Place residence was burglarized between 9:30 p.m. on August 23 and 9 a.m. on August 24. A TV valued at $700 was stolen.

Between 6 p.m. on May 12 and 6 p.m. on August 13 a mini fridge, microwave, and lockbox were stolen from a South Lumpkin St location. The items were owned by a Warner Robins resident. Their value was $313.

An Athens resident told police he was asleep when he heard his back door get pushed in around 11:15 a.m. on August 24. He saw a black male, 25 to 30 years old, run from the kitchen. The suspect got into a full size silver/gray Dodge 4-door pickup truck with thin black molding striped down the sides. It had a basketball size dent in the passenger rear door with a possible tag of BDK 7488. No clothing description was given.

A Murrell Road residence was burglarized between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on August 24. A window unit air conditioner, DVD player, and video game console were stolen. The total value was $500.
