On August 27, 2011 at 2:33p.m., Joseph L. Feinburg of Lawrenceville, GA, and his passenger, Philip Warren Fields of Clarkston, GA, were injured while travelling in a 2007 Toyota Corolla that collided with a 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by Marshall Brent Harden of Hawkinsville, GA.  The collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and GA Highway 72.  The Corolla was travelling west on GA Highway 72 and the Dodge Dakota north on U.S. Highway 29.  Witnesses stated that they observed the driver of the Dodge Dakota disregard the red traffic light on U.S. Highway 29.  The injured were transported to Athens Regional Medical Center by EMS.  Investigation is pending. 

On August 28, 2011, at 2:29 a.m., a man was driving south on Jackson Street at South Street when he struck a curb.  He was ejected from his vehicle and transported to Athens Regional Medical Center by EMS.  Investigation is pending.

On August 28, 2011 at 6 a.m., a woman reported that she awoke from sleeping on the living room couch at her residence on College Avenue, with a male intruder’s hand covering her mouth, telling her “not to say anything or I’ll shoot.” She started screaming when she did not see a gun, and he ran out the back door. She described the intruder as a large black male, wearing a plaid shirt and a straw hat with a dark band.

Between July 27, 2011 and August 27, 2011, an Oglethorpe Avenue resident reported that his home was burglarized.  A 32” TV valued at $400.00 and DVD player valued at $75.00 were taken.

On August 26, 2011, between 8:55 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., a Tennessee resident reported that his room at Howard Johnson Motor Lodge was burglarized. He discovered that $110.00 in US currency was taken out of his wallet while he was away from his room.

On August 27, 2011, at 10:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary at World of Futons on W. Broad Street. A caller saw two black males run from the scene carrying a bag. A cash drawer and $5.00 in coins were taken. 

On August 27, 2011, between 2 a.m. and 11:30 am., a car owner reported that his Chevy Silverado was entered on S. Milledge Avenue.  A stereo system valued at $575.00, i-pod value at $250.00, and a wallet containing $200.00 in US currency and a credit card were taken. 

On August 27, 2011, between  1 a.m. and 8 a.m., a male car owner reported that all four rims were taken from his Dodge Dakota while it was parked on Prince Ave. The rims are value at $2,000.00.
