Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 495 Martin Cir. A quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, and cash were seized. Donterry Scott, 32, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Cocaine.

A downtown officer was flagged down by a Commerce man. He told the officer that he had had an argument with a man as they were standing on the inside of the rail outside an East Clayton Street bar. He said the suspect attempted to drag him over the rail as he struck him. The Commerce man sustained a swollen eye and damaged teeth. The suspect was described as black/white mix or Hispanic wearing a black polo type shirt and khaki shorts with a possible name of Jessie.

A Pauldoe Street house was burglarized between 12 noon and 10 p.m. on August 30. A TV valued at $750 was stolen. Β

Between 7:30 p.m. on August 30 and 7:30 a.m. on August 31, a Price Ave residence was burglarized. A TV, value unknown, was stolen.

Between 7 p.m. and 7:50 p.. on August 30 items were stolen from bags in the gym at Cedar Shoals High School, 1300 Cedar Shoals High School. A school bus was also entered and items stolen. The students, ages 13 to 17, were from Salem High School. Stolen items included book bags, clothing, cash, cell phones, lunch box, jewelry, shoes, iPods, miscellaneous items, and a purse. The total value was $1,578. Two possible suspects were identified.
