Members of the Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 524 Vine Street,  Apt 19, on January 5.  A quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, digital scales, and packaging paraphernalia were seized. Laurice Wymbs was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of Public Housing.

Around 9:50am on January 5 officers responded an aggravated assault in progress in a  parking lot in the 2800 block of the Atlanta Hwy.  Contact was made with a Commerce man and Renta Lashea Appleby of Pauldoe Street.  An investigation revealed the two were arguing and Appleby came at the man with a box cutter.  In an attempt to take the box cutter from Appleyby, the man grabbed her arms.  As they struggled, they fell to the ground.  During this time Appleby  was cut on the arm. Appleby, 27, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. After treatment, she was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

Around 6:10pm on January 6, a Deerfield Road, resident, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, was north bound on Deerhill Road.  He lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned.  He was trapped in the vehicle. Fire Department personnel responded to extricate him.  The driver was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. He was cited for Underage Possession/Consumption of Alcohol and Failure to Maintain Lane/Improper Driving on a Roadway.  The investigation continues.  

A Fawn Drive residence was burglarized between 12 noon on December 29 and 12 noon on January 4.  Video game systems, a TV, and a hard drive were stolen.  The total value was $1,650.

Another Fawn Drive residence was burglarized between 12 noon on December 20 and 12 noon on January 4.  A video game system, a video game, and an iPhone were stolen.  The total value was $470.  

Between 3pm and 6pm on  January 5, a Sussex Drive residence was burglarized.  A TV valued at $800 was stolen.  A possible suspect was named.
