Crime Blotter--a drug arrest and burglaries galore

Around 2am on June 15, officers on foot patrol in Pauldoe saw two men sitting in a van on Pauldoe Circle. One was in the driver’s seat and the other was in the back seat.  As the officers approached the vehicle, the occupants opened the doors.  At the driver’s door an officer saw a small clear baggie containing a white powdery substance he believed to be cocaine.  The substance field-tested positive for cocaine and the occupant was arrested.  During a search of his person. the officer found a small baggie of marijuana.  A search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle containing several pieces of suspected crack cocaine.  The other man was not charged.  Trayvon Gareco Sims, 21, West Broad Street, was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Offense within 1,000’ of Housing. 

Officers responded to a burglary that had just occurred at Full Circle, 645 Danielsville Road, around 12:45am on June 15. A man said he was asleep inside the business when he was awakened by a noise. He saw a figure dressed in a dark hoodie, mask, and gloves.  When the person saw him he ran out the back door. Nothing is known missing.

A woman reported that her Garnett Ridge Drive residence was burglarized between 10:50am and 12:35am on June 14.  The residence was ransacked but nothing is known missing. 

Between 3pm on June 13 and 12 noon on June 14 a Sycamore Drive residence was burglarized.  A TV valued at $500 was stolen.  A possible suspect was identified.

A man reported fishing rods and reels, fishing tackle, a fish finder, and camcorder stolen from a boat at his Springdale Street residence.  The theft occurred between 12 noon on April 14 and 5:30pm on June 14.  The items were valued at $4,130.  

Between midnight May 14 and 10:30am on June 14, an air conditioner unit valued at $4,000 was stolen from Apollo Sci Tech, 115 Trade St.  Another unit was damaged.

A woman from Westchester Drive reported that a vacant Branch Street residence was burglarized between midnight May 15 and 1600 June 13.  A stove, dryer, window air conditioner units, TV, mini refrigerator, and sink fixtures were stolen.  The total value was $900.  Possible suspects were named.

A Sunny Hills Drive residence was burglarized between 12 noon and 4:35pm on June 13.  A cell phone, computer, and video game consoles were stolen.  The total value was $1,900. 

A vehicle parked in front of an Arch Street home was entered between 6pm on June 12 and 12:30am on June 13.  A CD player, speakers, and CDs were stolen.  The total value was $2,100.
